About

Hello! I am a doctoral candidate at the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. (Look, you can see me here on the website! I’m holding a vial labelled according to cGMP practices.) I am working with Prof. George Tsilomelekis in the world of spectroscopy and chemical kinetics. Specifically, I am applying advanced multivariate methods to vibrational and nuclear magnetic spectroscopies the understand solvent effects, explore kinetics, and understand catalysis in liquid systems. My case studies have been in biomass upgrading and pharmaceutical relevant reactions.

I have many experiences that have helped me be where I am today. At the chemical engineering program at Northeastern University, I had many fantastic experiences through their co-op program. At Acorda Therapeutics I learned about the pharmaceutical industry and the ins-and-outs of spray drying. Continuus Pharmaceuticals had an indelible mark on my life, as I continue to use spectroscopy, PAT, continuous processing and work on pharmaceutical relevant reactions to this day. My stint at IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) was fundamental in learning what it means to be a reaction engineer and exploring literature.

I am pleased to have received some recognitions during my PhD. I partook in a fellowship at Colgate through their ELO program which was simply fantastic. I also received a travel award for ISCRE27 and the Kokes award to NAM28.

Outside of my work, I enjoy bird watching and photography, although usually it is a combination of the two. I do a bit of programming for fun — not just for work — mostly to handle little problems for myself but a little bit of game programming. It’s been a while since my days doing hardware electronics, but those skills continue to be in use.

Feel free to follow me elsewhere as well!
